Council Tax Support Scheme Consultation
The Council Tax Support Scheme was created to help people on the lowest incomes with paying their council tax bills. The scheme plays an important role in helping Islington Council to demonstrate its commitment to making the borough a fairer place for all.
The pandemic has placed financial pressures on the council and many residents have lost their jobs or had their incomes reduced. Looking to the future the council is considering potential changes to the scheme which, if agreed, would be introduced from 1 April 2022.
There is a consultation on the options that the Council is considering. The consultation seeks your views on whether we should retain the current level of support for working age households, increase the level of support or increase to the maximum possible but remove support from other areas.
Find out more and give your views at: Council Tax Support Scheme | Islington Council The consultation closes on 30 September 2021.
